Why should developers work with us?
Well first off, we can provide you with the instant seed funding necessary to get your product off the ground. Beyond that, we're a company of accomplished entrepreneurs who are able to guide new entrepreneurs, as needed, through the development process—from creation of the product and business case all the way through to launch. Our combined management team has launched more than a dozen successful media and technology companies and we bring years of management, business development, and marketing experience together with a vast network of contacts and resources.
What if my idea is accepted?
We will contact you by email or phone within 30 days of your submission to let you know if your idea has been accepted. We'll plan to meet in person or by phone and see if we would be great partners for each other. From there we'll get the paperwork going and start working together.
How much will AppFund invest in each App?
We expect our investments to range from $5k up to $500k depending on the complexity of each App that we fund in association with the developers and perhaps other investors.
How big is the fund?
We've allocated several million dollars to the launch of AppFund. We may increase the size of the fund with additional capital or partners at a later time as needed.
How soon do you expect to launch your first Apps?
We expect to receive the first wave of proposals by the end of February as we are planning to have our first Apps on the new iPad by this summer.
What if I am based outside the United States?
We believe great ideas and people come from all over the place. If you have an amazing App idea and the ability to execute, we want to talk to you.
How should I protect my idea?
You should contact a great lawyer who can help with setting up a company and any legal rights you might have. There are many great ones around and we are happy to refer a few we’ve worked with.
